After three months of living in our house bus, I love almost everything about it - sleeping, eating, cooking, entertaining - except working! Not only am I frustrated by the dodgy mobile coverage at Shibui (on which we rely for broadband data), I am getting stiff and sore from working with my laptop computer on my knees. To keep my business Write Across Media afloat, I have perserved and manage to check my emails and monitor the websites and social media accounts for which I am responsible. However, I have been neglecting my creative writing. I have not written, I tell myself, because I have been physically displaced, mobile, and unable to find a sacred writing space. But knowing how much writing is an essential part of my spiritual practice, my beloved David said he would build me a writing desk.
Its aesthetic qualities - the curves, the love heart - leave me lost for words. Of course, I also love the functionality of this desk - it's just the right size and height and packs away flat when we're driving.
